Upnoma is a job portal platform that connects job seekers with employers, making recruitment simpler, faster, and more transparent.
The problem
Job seekers in smaller cities and regions often struggle to find relevant opportunities. Major job platforms are built for large urban markets, leaving local hiring fragmented. Employers in these areas post jobs through word of mouth, WhatsApp groups, or social media — with no structured system to track applications or manage candidates.
On the employer side, screening resumes manually is time-consuming. There's no easy way to compare candidates, track application status, or manage the hiring pipeline without expensive recruitment software.
The solution
A job portal designed for simplicity and local reach. Employers post structured job listings with clear requirements. Candidates search, filter, and apply through a clean interface. Both sides get real-time visibility into the hiring process.
The platform focuses on what matters: clear job descriptions, structured candidate profiles, and transparent application tracking — without the complexity of enterprise recruitment tools.
Core features
- Job posting and search – Employers post jobs with structured requirements. Candidates search and filter by location, category, and experience.
- Candidate profiles – Job seekers build profiles with skills, experience, and portfolio.
- Employer dashboard – Manage postings, review applications, and track hiring progress.
- Application tracking – Candidates see real-time status: submitted, reviewed, shortlisted, or rejected.
- Search and filtering – Find jobs by keyword, location, category, salary range, and experience level.
- Notifications – Get notified when application status changes or new matching jobs are posted.
Status
Active development — building the core platform with Laravel backend and React frontend.
What I learned
Recruitment platforms need to balance simplicity with structure. Job seekers want a fast, clear application flow. Employers want structured data to compare candidates. The challenge is providing enough structure without making the process feel heavy — especially for small businesses that don't have dedicated HR teams.
Next step
Launch the MVP with job posting, candidate profiles, and application tracking. Test with local employers and job seekers to validate the matching flow.
